This year’s Royal Philharmonic Society Awards Ceremony, held for the first time in Manchester, saw Laurence Osborn win the Chamber-Scale Composition award for his piece TOMB!, written for 12 Ensemble and the piano-percussion duo GBSR. It was praised for immersing “the listener in a sound-world that defies expectation and shows a composer reaching new heights.”
The piece was first performed at the Norfolk & Norwich Festival in 2023 and co-commissioned also by Kings Place and the Cheltenham Music Festival.
Congratulations Laurence!
